August reading wish list!

Updated: Sep 8, 2020

So apparently a monthly TBR list is the way to go (I’m loving being part of the Bookstagram community…I’m learning so much!). I’ve realised that I just pick and choose random books to read, and I’d like to be a bit more accountable in my lists and diversify the kind of authors I may naturally drift towards. Also being on Instagram has meant I have a lot more inspiration!

Let me know your thoughts on the books I’ve included, and if you have any further recommendations.

Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris Ghana Must Go by Taiye Selasi Carry On and Wayward Song by Rainbow Rowell Why I’ve Stopped Talking to White People about Race by Reni Eddo-Lodge Cursed Prince by C.N. Crawford Sabotaged (The Sundance Series Book 3) by C. P. Rider A Witch Called Red by Sami Valentine Witch’s Reign by Shannon Mayer The Labyrinth’s Archivist by Day Al-Mohamed The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

Breakdown:

12 books and 12 authors

Author Stats 75% Female, 16% male and 8% demi-boy 58% Caucasian (American & New Zealand), 8% Saint Thomian*, 8% Black British-American, 8% Black British, 8% unknown and 8% Afghan-American 8% disabled 16% LGBTQIA+ Book stats 8% include disabled character (currently known!) 8% include LGBTQIA+ character (currently known!) 8% non-fiction and 42% fantasy

*Don’t know the best identifier, so going with nationality.

NB this list is to the best of my (and Google’s) knowledge. These identifiers are used to help me be more accountable in my reading, which is also why I’ve chosen to compounded race with nationality. If you notice any authors misidentified please let me know!

Listening to: Carole & Tuesday (still!)
